Twelve children between the ages of 24 months and three years old meet from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm or 9:00am to 3:00pm for five mornings per week.

Children at this age are making great strides toward independence. They are learning to separate from their parents and they can benefit from spending a few hours with other children.

This class emphasizes movement, language development and socialization in a well-designed setting. The materials are simple and suited to the interests and capabilities of very young children. The children are not required to be toilet trained for this class, yet we will support your efforts to accomplish this.

The toddler class is staffed with a certified Montessori trained teacher and an assistant.

Toddler Arrival and Dismissal

During the first week of school we encourage you to walk your toddler into the building and greet the teacher or assistant at the classroom door. Extended hugs and emotions make it more difficult for a child to separate, so please greet the teacher, say good-bye to your child, and then leave quietly. It is important that you do not enter the classroom and for your child not to see you standing outside the door.

Once your child has settled in and seems to be separating easily in the morning, you may join the others in the drive-through arrival.

All toddlers will be dismissed between 11:50 a.m. and 12:00 noon, or 2:50-3:00p.m. A staff member will walk your toddler to the car at dismissal. Please feel free to park and walk in to greet your child if you prefer.
